Man seriously injured in fall from A442 bridge
The A442 through Telford was closed this morning after a man was critically injured in a fall from a bridge.
An air ambulance was sent to the scene, where the man was being treated by paramedics for life-threatening injuries.
The road, known as the Eastern Primary or EP, is now back open.
The incident happened between Hollinswood and Randley and was reported to the emergency services at 7.46am.
The busy dual carriageway was closed in both directions for around 45 minutes as the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford landed at the scene.
Delays reached around an hour before the road reopened at 8.45am.
A West Mercia Police spokesman confirmed the man had fallen from a footbridge onto the southbound carriageway.
