Twincl is raising thousands of pounds for good causes in Telford

Twincl, run by Telford & Wrekin Council, is set to raise more than £37,000 for over 40 good causes.

And although there have been several winners, this is the first time someone has won £2,000.

Councillor Lee Carter, cabinet member for finance, said: “Twincl has made a great start and has been really well supported by our community.

“It’s a great way for people to contribute to the good causes they care about directly and support the amazing work being done in the community like Forge Urban Revival that aims to reduce social isolation in Oakengates or Recharge who help young people with drug and alcohol dependency and emotional well being – there is a good cause for everyone.”

Councillor Carter also encouraged leaders of good causes to sign up to benefit from the lottery.

He added: “With this being Telford’s 50th anniversary, we’re focusing on investing in Telford’s communities for this year and in the future. We are hoping that several of the community groups who are taking part in Telford50 celebrations will also take part in this lottery.”

Everyone who plays the community lottery can choose to donate to a particular good cause that is close to their heart or the Twincl Community Fund, a general good cause fund which provides vital support to a wide range of local organisations and community initiatives.

For every £1 ticket, 60p goes towards supporting them community groups.

The £25,000 jackpot is yet to be won. Anybody who wants to take part should visit twincl.co.uk
