The staff at Spice of Barley in St Georges will come in to work and cook up a festive feast for the less fortunate between 1pm and 4pm.

Anisah Khan at the restaurant said: "We wanted to help the needy, put a smile on the faces of less fortunate people this Christmas and do something different, so Spice of Barley decided to welcome the homeless this year.

"We are a family run business, and together believe that nobody should be alone during this period.

"We have 50 seats available in our restaurant and have set times but we will not leave anyone hungry that attends.

"We have had such a great turn out from the shares on social media: a lot of people volunteering their help, a donation of two turkeys, crackers and inundated with well wishers and other very generous people who share the same vision, who we are very grateful to and very thankful.

"It’s also very pleasing to see the community as a whole get together like this and spread love and good humanity for those in need so we hope to continue this throughout the year with other charitable organisations with the support which we are very grateful for."
