Lilleshall Hall Golf Club, which is an 18 hole course and was established in 1937, hosted the event on Saturday and Sunday.

There was a free two ball voucher or a free lesson voucher for people who went along and registered on either of the days.

People were shown around the club’s facilities and invited to have free hot drinks in the clubhouse.

David Parker, from the club, said: “It has allowed people who can or cannot play golf to look around our facilities.

“We are a hidden gem of Shropshire.

“We’ve had substantial interest from golfers and non golfers.

“We’ve been delighted to show them into the clubhouse for a free tea or coffee. Quite a number have decided they want to join.”

Juniors who visited at the weekend were also taken down to the practice ground and were given a coaching session.

People were also able to have a go on a golf simulator.

Mr Parker added: “We’re very happy with how it’s gone.

“We’ve had a good turnout and a good conversion rate.”

The club has more than 600 members who are aged from four to 93.
