Jay Swingler, whose video of him cementing his head inside a microwave earned him notoriety and was viewed by nearly six million people, has around 1.3 million subscribers to his personal channel.

The latest effort was a little less risky than the microwave stunt, and saw Swingler, who lives in Telford, visiting Starbucks coffee shops across the region.

Depending on the the standard of the service and the drink provided, the vlogger then decided whether or not to hand over a tip of £100 to the bemused baristas.

One lucky worker, at Shrewsbury's Battlefield ended up with more than £400.

The video opens with Jay, joined by Chloe Constance for the trip, telling the viewers: "For every coffee that's good, they get a massive tip."

He adds: "A good coffee can go a long way."

The first recipient of the tip gets £100 of cash counted out from his car, with Jay saying: "That coffee was worth my £100 tip, 100 per cent."

At the next Starbucks he opts to go inside rather than take the drive-through option and looks for a more technically demanding beverage, as he seeks to test the skills of the barista.

The order is for a caramel macchiato – with a shot of hazelnut.

After judging the drink to be of the tipping standard required Jay goes up to the counter to hand over the cash, telling the barista: "We are making a YouTube video right, we are tipping Starbucks workers money if they make a good coffee and that was one of the best ones I have ever tried so I wanna tip you £100."

As he heads off he signs off with a "Spend it wisely man."

Bored of coffee, at his next stop he hands over a £100 tip first for a drink of milk, and then tap water with ice, to the stunned staff.

At their final stop in Battlefield, Shrewsbury, Jay hands over £150 to a worker by the name of Shaun, describing the coffee shop as "the littest starbucks ever".

So impressed with the level of service from Shaun over the previous weeks he then returns to hand over another £300, adding: "Shaun is always so happy yeah, and he's always like so enthusiastic about his job and it is crazy how good someone can make you feel about your day just from being nice to people and just smiling."

Jay also previously stunned workers in Poundworld, Telford, when he spent more than £1,600 buying one of everything in the store, on the Wrekin Retail Park.

The 12-minute video showed Jay filling his trolleys with items from across the shop.
