Author Olga, 80, publishes latest thriller
Telford author Olga Tramontin has published her sixth novel, a crime thriller called "Singing in a Whisper."
Olga, who lives at Holmer Lake and writes under the name Olga Merrick, set on the trail of literary success with her debut five years ago with "Untouched Departures."
"I am currently studying for my Master's Degree in creative writing with the Open University at the grand age of 80," she says.
"I also, from time to time, run writing courses, currently curtailed because of Covid-19."
Olga hails originally from Middlesex and for 30 years was in the pub and catering trade, and it was conversations she overheard while running a pub in Elstree which was frequented by film stars and famous people which spurred her to write her first published book.
Her Tramontin name comes from northern Italy – she was married for 20 years to an Italian chef who died about 18 years ago.
Merrick, the name she uses for her writing, was her mother’s maiden name.
She gained a BA (Hons) degree in English Literature at the Open University at the age of 77.
"Singing in a Whisper" has been published by Chadgreen Books and Olga is selling it for £6.75 plus postage and packaging.
