The blaze happened at about 9.50pm last night at an address on Priorslee Road in Snedshill.

Emergency services were called to the scene and firefighters used two sets of breathing apparatus, a hose reel jet and a thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire.

The fire service reported the homeowner managed to escape the property before crews arrived.

West Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS) was also at the scene and assessed a woman who didn't need hospital treatment.

Shropshire Fire & Rescue Service sent three fire engines from Telford, Tweedale and Wellington fire stations. Operations and fire investigation officers were also in attendance.

The blaze was extinguished within about half an hour.

A WMAS spokeswoman said: "We were called by the fire service at 9.55pm last night to a property fire in Priorslee Road, Telford. An ambulance and a paramedic officer attended and assessed one woman from the property. She didn’t require hospital treatment and was discharged on scene."
