Telford fitness coaches team up with Mr Motivator on new fitness venture
Mr Motivator became famous for his glorious outfits while getting the nation fit during the 1990s on breakfast TV.
Before the likes of Joe Wicks came knocking, the Jamaican-born fitness fanatic was getting us off the sofa every morning on GMTV.
Now the TV’s wellbeing and fitness legend has launched a brand new online concept to tackle physical and mental wellbeing and two fitness coaches from Telford have been hand-picked to go with him on the journey.
The CLUB extends Mr Motivator’s trademark motivation beyond the physical, to include expert advice on sensible eating, mental fitness and provide a community to help battle loneliness, especially in older people.
The wellbeing and fitness guru, who is now 68, hopes to tackle levels of low mood and depression by injecting the feel good factor into people's daily lives.
Telford fitness coaches Jemma Kibblewhite and Lish Crutchley have been chosen to become two of 14 specialist ‘Motivators’ offering expert advice, support and activities via The CLUB.
They will help to offer an array of engaging classes including HITT, yoga, cookery, pilates, nutrition, music therapy, mindfulness and mental health workouts.
“This is an amazing opportunity," Jemma said.
"I feel so lucky to be part of the motivation team and to be endorsed by Mr Motivator, who is not only motivational but truly inspirational.
"I love my job as a fitness instructor and I’m really looking forward to offering people the help, support and expertise they need as they start on their fitness and wellbeing journey.
"What a great way to bring the community together during these difficult times."
Lish, who lives in Wellington, said Mr Motivator first inspired her through the power of screen when she was 15.
"Since that moment I have been on a mission to spread the power of fitness and how it can change lives," she said.
"I am so excited to be joining the motivation team and can’t wait to help people feel happy and good about themselves."
During lockdown, Lish was also approached by a producer of a new show to be on national TV.
"They were raising money for the NHS so I was super happy to donate my time to Bestfit TV.
"I had six appearances which was insane. Hours of filming in my bedroom with lots of takes to make sure I got it right.
"I tried setting up online and had to get used to technology to adapt my fitness classes.
"I had to redo my room, move things out. My dad dismantled my bed so I could have space in my room so I slept on the floor pretty much most of the lockdowns as it became a pain for me moving my bed in and out of the garden.
"My mission is to keep spreading the love online. Helping people to stay strong and positive during uncertain times."
The 28-year-old is also hosting a virtual rave on June 18 to raise money for Severn Hospice.
People are being asked to make a donation at justgiving.com/fundraising/elishah-crutchley7 in return for taking part, and places can be booked by emailing activelifestyle@hotmail.co.uk
The CLUB’s concept, exercise and sensible eating plans have been developed and endorsed by Dr Kathy Fulcher, Ireland’s leading exercise physiologist and nutritionist.
Members can access live and recorded fitness classes, sensible eating plans, mindfulness, mental health tips and techniques, real life stories and chat rooms.
Mr Motivator said: “Your wellbeing is a way of life and I want to get the people of Shropshire moving and feeling good about themselves. I’m confident Jemma and Lish have the energy, positivity, passion and expertise to do this.
"They are in every sense true ‘Motivators’ and will be on hand to help people as they embark on their wellbeing journey.
"The most important thing you can have is an independent, healthier you.
"You must not underestimate the impact that exercise can have on your mental and physical wellbeing."
