Police investigate reports of 'youths' after blaze rips through two empty Telford homes
A fire has damaged two empty homes in Telford after reports of youths in the abandoned properties around an hour before the blaze began.
Shropshire Fire and Rescue said it received reports of the fire in Donnington Drive at around 4.35pm on Monday.
Three fire appliances including the aerial ladder platform were mobilised from Shrewsbury and Telford Central.
A fire service spokesperson said the incident involved two properties.
The blaze, which was extinguished by around 6.30pm, affected two semi-detached properties in the rural Donnington Drive.
The road was temporarily closed as firefighters tackled the blaze.
Neighbours in Donnington Drive said the two homes had been empty for a while.
West Mercia Police are understood to be investigating.
