Firefighters called out after van's engine catches fire in Telford

Firefighters were called out after a van's engine caught fire last night.

The incident happened in New Meadow Road, Horsehay, Telford shortly after 9.30pm.

A Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "At 9.43pm on Wednesday, August 23, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a car fire in Telford. Incident involving one van with small electrical fire. Crews used one hose reel jet and small gear to extinguish."

One fire engine was sent to the scene from Telford Central station.
