Clive Downer says the new Lawley Village community have been given disabled access to the local park while Dawley Bank residents have not

The householders in Princes End, Dawley Bank, say that ever since the new Lawley Village estate has been built, residents in the older part of the town have been neglected.

Clive Downer, 63, says he has lived in Dawley Bank for three years, and says the council have refused to provide disabled access to the common, but have just built one for new Taylor Wimpey homes in Lawley Bank, along with a new play area.

The installations are part of Telford & Wrekin Council's £3.7 million investment in green spaces in the borough, but residents of Dawley Bank say they are being overlooked.

The route from Dawley Bank to the local park is unusable for the disabled unlike the newly installed public footpath at the new Lawley Village estate

"Disabled people here have to walk a mile to a mile and a half to get access to the park but this new estate is going to have a nice new level footpath to the park with disabled access," said Mr Downer.
