Housing plan for village takes step forward as scheme deemed 'acceptable'
Plans to build seven homes in a Shropshire village have moved forwards after the council gave outline plans the green light.
Proposals for seven homes on land at Forge Meadow in Tibberton have been amended after initial objections from village residents along with Tibberton & Cherrington Parish Council.
After receiving the objections applicant V, S & N Peile, Ward and Lainton changed their scheme, which has now been given outline approval by Telford & Wrekin Council.
“The development of up to seven new dwellings will result in the use of an under-utilised area of land which will have no major detriment to the existing surrounding land-uses,” said the applicant in their planning statement.
“The site can deliver energy-efficient, quality homes within a landscaped setting, fully in keeping with the existing character of the locality.”
A Telford & Wrekin Council planning officer granted outline consent stating that the housing scheme is ‘acceptable’.
“(Planning) officers consider that the proposed development would be set back considerably from the main highway and would be nestled within a discrete location,” concluded the planning officer.
