A court heard on Friday that Lewis Bates of Ruskin Way had now swapped his obsession with perverted images for an interest in World War II.

The 32-year-old had admitted four charges of having more than 100 indecent images of children on his phone, including dozens of videos of the most severe kind of abuse, as well moving images of women being sexually assaulted and people having sex with animals, Shrewsbury Crown Court was told.

Ms Rosemary Proctor, prosecuting, told the judge that images were found by West Mercia Police on November 14 last year, after the force served a warrant at his home address where he lives with his mother.
