Fitness classes head online for Rich and team
A personal trainer and his team are making sure that people can still keep in shape – mentally and physically – despite lockdown rules.
Rich Woodman, from Albrighton, who runs RW Fitness, has been joined fellow trainers Leanne Anderson, Diana Nixon, Hayley Baker and Alison Smith, in using Zoom to provide online fitness sessions.
With social distancing rules putting an end to face-to-face classes, Rich said he had wanted to help people cope with the testing situation, and decided to offer a host of free sessions from Monday to Saturday.
There are more than 70 members joining for the classes, which include spinning, circuit training, HIT sessions, legs, bums and tums, yoga, stretch and relax, boogie bounce, and zumba.
More Covid-19 coverage:
Rich, 36, who has been a personal trainer for 15 years, said the sessions were intended to particularly help give people a mental release.
He said: "We are aiming it mainly for mental health because are forgetting the mental health issues.
"Through my experience as a personal trainer mental health is so important. We are just trying to offer something for people. We are not finding it easy financially but if we can keep everyone together and keep them happy we think it is a good thing to do."
Rich said the classes are open to people no matter where they are, and last for 30 minutes each.
There can be up to five classes a day Monday to Friday, and another three on Saturdays.
Rich said the classes had also helped to keep his own morale up, and have also led to the occasional online garden party.
He said: "I have stayed active with it and seen people happy on video, talked to people, and we have done a few meetings where we have just invited people to have a garden party."
People can take part in the sessions by going to Facebook and searching for Rich Woodman and RW Fitness to find out more.
