Firefighters tackle house blaze on Shropshire border near Wolverhampton

One person was reported to be left in the care of the ambulance service following blaze at a house near Wolverhampton on Thursday evening.

The fire, in County Lane, Codsall Wood, started shortly before 5.30pm, leading to crews from West Midlands Fire Service and Shropshire Fire & Rescue Service being called out.

A spokesperson for Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service said one person was left in the care of West Midlands Ambulance Service.

There were fears people could be trapped in the property. However, Shropshire Fire & Rescue Service said that on arrival all persons were accounted for.

Fire crews from Albrighton, Telford and Wellington were joined by one from Staffordshire and another from West Midlands in responding, while police were also on the scene.

It is not known how the blaze started.
