Firefighters rescue toddler trapped in living room due to faulty door handles

Firefighters were called to rescue an 18-month-old child who was trapped in a living room of their Shropshire home due to faulty door handles.

Crews used small gear to break in and released the trapped youngster at a home in Albert Road, Albrighton.

It happened on Wednesday afternoon at about 3.15pm.

A spokesman for Shropshire Fire and Rescue said: "Young child trapped in living room due to defective door handle crews used small gear to effect entry."

The spokesperson added that he child was safely released from the living room on arrival of the fire service.
