Stuck in the mud: Fire crews rescue pregnant cow in Broseley
A heavily pregnant cow has been rescued after it became stuck in mud at a farm in Broseley.
Specialist animal rescue teams from Shropshire Fire & Rescue Service were sent to Inett Farm, on Pound Lane yesterday at about 3.20pm.
A vet was joined by three fire appliances sent from Much Wenlock and Wellington, along with the rescue tender and an operations officer.
Crews carried out a rescue mission lasting about an hour and a half, before the animal was freed from the ditch.
Jim Barker, of Shropshire Fire & Rescue, tweeted: "@SFRS_Wellington specialist animal rescue team and @SFRS_Wenlock rescued a heavily pregnant cow who was stuck in a ditch this afternoon.
