The Broseley five-year-old returned from Philadelphia, where he was undergoing treatment for his Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia, on Saturday.

His mother, Hannah Oliver-Willets, posted an update on social media, saying: "We had a brilliant experience with the doctors and nurses at the Children's Hospital Of Philadelphia (CHOP). As always, they were fantastic.

"Zac's results have been fast tracked given the high risk of relapse and I am extremely happy to tell you all that his mophalogical (blood test) has come back clear for both b-cells and cancer.

"His MRD (minimal residual disease), which looks for cancer in his bone marrow, has also come back clear.

"We are just waiting for one more test result to come back now. This is amazing news.

"Tuesday Zac has an appointment with an orthopaedic surgeon to do some x-rays on both hips and hopefully get some clarity on how to manage his Perthes disease in his hip.

"All being well, Zac will be returning to school on Wednesday."
