Emergency crews rushed to the property, in Haddon Place. Dawley Bank, following reports of a fire in the early hours.

When they arrived the householders had already managed to put the fire out.

West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman Murray MacGregor said: "We were called at 2.10am to that location to reports of a fire with four patients with possible smoke inhalation.

"Two ambulances and a paramedic officer were sent to the scene.

"On arrival the ambulance staff were told that the fire had been put out by the householders.

"We treated two adults, male and female, and two children for the effects of smoke inhalation. They chose not to go to hospital and as a result were discharged on scene."

Two crews from Telford Central Fire Station and an operations officer used a thermal imaging camera to check the property. They left at 2.35am.
