Dog dies after being attacked by 'wolfhound or lurcher' in Telford

A dog has died after being attacked by an Irish wolfhound or lurcher in Telford.

The animal needed intensive surgery after the attack in the Drayton Way and Conroy Drive area of Dawley on Thursday.

It has since died due to its injuries.

The attacking dog was off its lead, and police are now asking for anybody who has information to come forward.

Two witnesses helped after the incident, and the owner of the other dog saw the attack as well.

They are being asked to get in touch with police as soon as possible on 101, citing incident number 702S 070219.
