Woman airlifted with broken femur after Ironbridge crash

A woman in her 60s was airlifted to hospital with a broken femur after a serious crash near Ironbridge.

It happened on the B4380 Buildwas Road around 12.05pm yesterday.

A red Toyota Yaris was at the junction with the A4169 and a black BMW 1 series was travelling from the A4169 Buildwas Bank onto the Buildwas Road when the vehicles collided.

The driver of the Toyota Yaris - the woman in her 60s - suffered a broken femur and was taken to hospital while the driver of the BMW sustained neck injuries.

Enquiries are currently ongoing but police would like to speak with any witnesses to the incident or people who saw the vehicles and the manner in which they were being driven prior to the collision.

Anyone with information is asked to call West Mercia Police on 101 quoting incident number 353S of September 17.
