The partners and communities together (PACT) meetings have returned to Ironbridge following talks to improve community engagement in the Gorge.

The decision to relaunch PACT follows a public meeting on local policing and talks between the local policing team and the borough councillor for the Ironbridge Gorge, Nicola Lowery. Councillor Lowery said: “PACT provides an opportunity for us to meet as a community and encourages residents to raise community issues that we can prioritise as a group.

Informative

“It was a productive meeting with a range of issues being discussed such as speeding, particularly on Waterloo Street, Lloyds/Coalport Road/Wharfage, motorbikes on Rough Park, reporting issues relating to privately hired taxi drivers and parking on the zig zags in front of the Coalbrookdale & Ironbridge Primary School.

“I would like to thank everyone that attended this really informative and useful session and big thanks to PCSO Venus who facilitated the meeting.

“This will hopefully be the start of many future PACT meetings to improve community involvement and partnership working in the Ironbridge Gorge.

“I’d encourage everyone to get involved.”

The next PACT meeting will be held on June 17, at the Coalbrookdale & Ironbridge Community Centre, from 7pm.
