Firefighters tackle rubbish blaze in back of bin lorry

Firefighters tackled a rubbish blaze in the back of a bin lorry in Telford.

Two crews from Wellington were called to Acacia Drive, Leegomery, at about 11.50am today.

Crews used a hose reel jet and thermal imaging camera to tackle the blaze.

An operations officer was also in attendance.

Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service said it had received reports of a fire involving rubbish in the rear of a refuse lorry.

The lorry was moved to a waste disposal site and the rubbish was unloaded.
