Lee Hill: Inquest opens over Telford bus tragedy after 19-year-old killed
The inquest has opened for a 19-year-old who died after he was struck by a bus.
Lee Hill died after being hit in Sutton Way, on Saturday.
The hearing held at Shrewsbury's Shire Hall was told that at approximately 9pm Mr Hill was walking towards Sutton Hill when he was hit by the bus.
Police and paramedics attended, but Mr Hill, of Selbourne, Sutton Hill, died at the scene.
The matter was adjourned until January 29 when it will be heard at Telford Register Office.
Arriva have confirmed that Mr Hill was hit by one of their buses, and said that they were working with the police on the investigation.
Simon Mathieson, area managing director north, at Arriva Midlands, said: “We can confirm that one of our buses, on route one, was involved in an incident near Sutton Hill, in Telford at around 9.10pm on September 15.
"We are currently working closely with the police to assess the on-board CCTV footage and establish an accurate picture of the circumstances surrounding what happened.
"At this time our thoughts remain with the loved ones of the individual involved.”
Tributes have continued to flood in for the teenager on social media since his death.
Johanna Mulloy said: "Such sad news.
"My daughter knew him well from being in most of his classes at Madeley Academy. She talked highly of him and it's really hit her.
"Such a lovely lad by the sounds and taken too soon. May Lee rest in peace and his family and friends get the support they need at this sad time."
Nikki Lewis said: "My thoughts are with his family what awful news, so young."
