Clampdown on illegal parking urged by Newport councillor
A councillor in Newport is urging residents to call 101 when they see illegal parking.
Newport town councillor Thomas Janke said those with disabilities or pushchairs were being forced to step out into the road by those parking on the pavement.
He is working with Inspector Gary Wade to help curb problem parking in the town.
"I am continuing to encourage residents to report illegal parking," he said.
"It is not acceptable to block pavements, it forces those with wheelchairs and pushchairs into busy roads.
"Please report blocked pavements and driveways to police. They can and will take action."
Anybody who wants to report anything can call police on 101.
