Newport road closed after crash
A road was closed after a head-on crash between two cars in Newport.
Firefighters, police and West Midlands Ambulance Service were called to Avenue Road, near Audley Avenue, at about 8.50am this morning.
Two patients were assessed by ambulance crews while police and firefighters cleared the road.
Police asked people who live in the area and use the road to bear with them while clearing it.
One fire crew was sent from Newport to help clear the road.
When they arrived nobody was trapped.
They said the area was safe by about 9.10am.
