The Edgmond Lion Pub, is up for sale and as a designated Asset of Community Value the village has an exclusive right to bid for it until 26 August 2021.

A campaign group, "The Lion Roars Again", says although it has made a good deal of progress and is gaining support there is much work to be done. It has appealed for more volunteers to help.

Richard Pearson of the group said: "People have been incredibly generous with their financial pledges and in volunteering their time and expertise. They want this to happen, and quickly."

Allan Wilson, Chair of Edgmond Parish Council said: "It would be great to get the pub back open and better still if , as planned, it offers other locally desired services."

The team is keen to get help from a national organisation, The Plunkett Foundation, which advises community groups on how to create sustainable pubs.
