Alarm raised when fire breaks out in green waste in Newport

Electrical household equipment and green waste were involved in a fire in Newport.

Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service received 999 calls about the fire in Plough Lane at 4.30pm on Wednesday .

A fire crew from Newport was quickly on scene and brought the fire under control by 5.08pm.

Firefighters used a thermal imagine camera to check hotspots in the fire.
