Domino’s submits plan to convert longstanding chip shop into pizza takeaway
Domino’s has submitted plans to open a new takeaway in Newport.
Proposals have been submitted to convert the former Zach’s Plaice building on High Street into a Domino’s Pizza takeaway.
The popular chip shop and restaurant unexpectedly closed in June amid the rising price of potatoes.
An application has now been submitted to Telford & Wrekin Council to change the use of the building into a hot food takeaway.
The property itself is a Grade II Listed Building dating back to the 13th century and sits within the Newport Conservation Area.
The proposed takeaway would operate between 11am and 11pm Sunday to Saturday, which applicant DPSK Limited says is in line with other hot food takeaways and late-night uses in the area.
