About Oakengates

Oakengates is home to Telford's main theatre at The Place which hosts the popular Telford Pantomime and is a popular haunt for real ale fans because several pubs in the town serve the tipples all year round. The town has good public transportation links and has a train station and a tunnel on the Shrewsbury-Wolverhampton railway line. It has a rich industrial history and the old Wombridge Ironworks was based there.
