Biker injured after hitting car windscreen in rush-hour crash

A motorcyclist has been taken to hospital after a crash with a car during rush hour.

The 48-year-old man hit the car's windscreen during the smash and suffered an eye injury as well as chest and abdominal pain.

The collision happened on Marton Drive, Wellington, at around 4.45pm this afternoon.

Murray MacGregor, spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service, said: "A male, aged 48, riding a motorbike had a crash with a car, he collided with the windscreen.

"He's got an eye injury and left-side chest and abdominal pain, he is moving all four limbs.

"He was taken to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital."

The fire service were sent to the scene to clear up a fuel spillage.
