Great day as community turns back clock
An "Arleston Through The Years" local history event - the first run by the community itself rather than under council direction - was well attended, with visitors seeing exhibitions, photographs, vintage cars, motorcycles and engines from the Arleston area over the last 100 years.
The annual event at Arleston Community Centre was held by Arleston Memories Group and also included cakes, jams and pies donated by group members.
"The people who had stalls there and those who exhibited made a wonderful interesting show," said Dave Barnett, one of the organisers.
"There were plenty of visitors who I am sure enjoyed a very good day. The unsung kitchen staff providing refreshments did their usual outstanding job."
Dorothy and Ross Vickers opened the event.
Among items on show were a 1929 Triumph, an MG TD, and items of agricultural equipment.
