Fire service false alarm as vape sets off smoke detector in disabled toilet at park in Telford
Fumes from a vape device in a disabled toilet caused a fire scare at a Telford park.
A fire crew from Wellington was scrambled to Bowring Park, in Haygate Road, Wellington, at 12.58pm on Tuesday in response to an automatic fire alarm.
When they arrived on the scene the crew found it had been a false alarm.
A spokesman for Shropshire Fire & Rescue Service said: "This incident was a false alarm caused by vape smoke entering detector head in disabled toilet."
The fire crew stood down at 1.17pm.
