Mylee suffered stab wounds at a house on Valley View and was rushed to hospital.

Unfortunately there was nothing that could be done to save her life and she was pronounced dead shortly afterwards.

A post-mortem is scheduled to take place tomorrow to establish the precise cause of death.

The 54-year-old man arrested in connection with the incident remains in hospital in a critical condition after himself suffering a single stab wound at the same address.

Detective inspector Jim Colclough, who is leading the investigation into Mylee's death, said: "This is an absolutely tragic set of circumstances and my thoughts are with everyone who has been affected.

“We are still at the early stages of understanding exactly what happened and why - but I can confirm we are not looking for anyone else in connection with this investigation.”

Anyone with any information which may help the investigation should call West Midlands Police on 101.
