Teen suffers serious injuries after Walsall crash
A teenager suffered serious injuries after a crash in Walsall today.
The teen, who was riding the bike, had to be airlifted to hospital following the crash between a car and a bike at the junction of Birch Lane and Mill Road, Pelsall, at 8.30am.
He suffered serious injuries to both legs and was airlifted to Queen Elizabeth Hospital's major trauma centre.
A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service, which sent an ambulance and the midlands air ambulance from RAF Cosford with a MERIT trauma doctor on board to the scene, said: “The motorcyclist, a teenage boy, suffered serious injuries to both legs in the collision. The ambulance team worked to stabilise his condition by administering pain relief to help ease his discomfort.
"The teenager was then immobilised, to avoid any further movement of his lower limbs, before being airlifted to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham; a major trauma centre.”
