Councillor Elias Mattu and his wife Asha have organised an evening of masked-fun which took place at the end of last month.

Dozens of people donned their glad rags for the glittering masquerade ball on October 28.

Entertainment at the event included a DJ, sparkling dancefloor, fire-eaters and stilt walkers as well as a three-course meal on offer to those who attended.

Now, the total money raised is being calculated before it will be handed to charities Acorns Hospice, Street Pastors, Sickle Cell Care, Interfaith Wolverhampton, the Alzheimer’s Society and Wolverhampton Central Youth Theatre.

Councillor Elias Mattu, Mayor, said: “I would like to say thank you to everyone who enjoyed a glittering evening at the Masquerade Ball held at the Diamond Banqueting Suite and the Mayoress and I are very grateful for their generosity.
