Bugatti releases bicycle inspired by Chiron hypercar

Pushbike weighs just under five kilograms

Bugatti has released a bicycle with a look designed to echo its Chiron hypercar.

Built in partnership with bicycle company PG, the bike weighs just 5kg thanks to a heavy use of carbon fibre.

Because it comprises 95 per cent of the lightweight material, the bike isn’t just light but especially rigid, giving it the response of a high-end road bike. However, the manufacturer of the bicycle claims that it is ‘a piece of sports equipment which is not intended to be used on public roads’.

Buyers can request to have their bike matched to their own Bugatti road car and can choose from a range of special paints as well as different types of leather for the saddle and handlebar grips. The handlebars are also fitted with shock absorbers to give a vastly more comfortable ride.

All of the carbon components have been created by hand, using methods that are only usually encountered in motorsport.

Limited to just 667 units, it is one of a series of Bugatti Chiron-inspired lifestyle products, including a leather driving jacket and a 66ft luxury yacht all designed to match the powerful hypercar.
