Fisker Inc reveal teaser images of new EMotion electric vehicle
The luxurious EV will take on the likes of Tesla when it hits the road in 2019
Fisker Inc. has given the world its first look at its all new, Tesla-rivalling, electric vehicle – the EMotion.
While design renderings have been floating around for a while, these new teaser images are the first that show the actual car in the metal.
Headline stats are also impressive, with Fisker claiming that the new EMotion is capable of a 400-mile electric range, as well as a top speed of 161mph.
The EV is crafted out of a mix of carbon-fibre and aluminium, which the company says “gives greater consideration than ever before to its passengers’ safety, comfort, and convenience”.
EMotion is powered by what Fisker is calling an “advanced high-energy density, patent-pending battery pack and cooling system”. Using the company’s UltraCharger, this can be charged to a range of more than 100 miles in just nine minutes.
A bevy of technology also features on the car. The aluminium centrepiece on the nose of the vehicle contains a LIDAR system, while the side mirrors also house two cameras that provide the driver with a 360° view out of the car.
Plenty of work has also been done to make the EMotion as aerodynamic as possible. The car features carbon-fibre aero elements on the front, sides and rear, while the low bonnet line will also improve its ability to slice through the air as efficiently as possible.
Customers will be able to purchase the EMotion directly through Fisker Inc’s website, as well as from a number of “experience centres”. Servicing will be provided by The Hybrid Shop.
The EMotion is due to hit the road in 2019, and Fisker Inc will reveal further information throughout the course of this month.
Pre-orders begin on June 30.
