A stunning example of a classic Porsche 911 could fetch more than £125,000 when it goes under the hammer next month.

This particular 1981 Porsche 911 Turbo has undergone a painstaking restoration at the hands of Porsche Classic Restoration Centre in Leeds.

The project was based on a neglected 911, which had been gathering dust in a garage for 15 years. It was totally stripped down before being completely rebuilt into the immaculate example presented here.

Painted in authentic Guards Red, it’s far from just an aesthetic rebuild. The engine was also stripped back to its component parts, with as many original pieces as possible retained – the turbocharger unit was beyond repair and was swapped out.

Inside, the old electricals were replaced to a modern standard, while the seats were restored and the carpets and headlining were replaced with period-correct materials.

The six-month project was covered in numerous Porsche and classic car magazines, which are included in the sale.

Arwel Richard, classic car specialist at Silverstone Auctions, said: “We’re not allowed to use the terms ‘as new’, ‘like new’, or ‘better than new’, but this car is absolutely exceptional.”

It has a pre-sale estimate of £125,000 to £145,000 and is set to go under the hammer at the Silverstone Classic Sale on July 29 and 30.
