Ferrari F40 set to sell for almost £1,000,000
Classic supercar headlines seventy-car Salon Privé Sale

A Ferrari F40 is set to be auctioned next month — with an estimated sale price of just under £1,000,000.
The ‘80s Italian supercar will headline the Salon Privé Sale — hosted by Silverstone Auctions — in September, with the car having an estimated final value of £875,000 to £975,000.
This particular example is a highly sought-after model, featuring no catalytic convertor, non-adjustable suspension and sliding plexiglass windows.
It has seen light usage in its lifetime, covering 1,864 miles pre-restoration and currently 310 miles after being restored, with Ferrari granting it the prestigious Classiche certification.

Derived from the 308 GTB, the F40 featured a 2.9-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine that developed 471bhp and 577Nm of torque. As a result, 0-60mph comes in 3.8 seconds and on to a top speed of 201mph, which at the time was a world production car record.
It was lauded for its unrivalled driving experience and incredible performance, often seen as a race car for the road. Significantly, it was also the final car to be approved by Enzo Ferrari before his death in 1988.
Harry Whale, operations manager at Silverstone Auctions, said: “All F40s are desirable and normally well presented, but very rarely a car such as this comes to market with the kind of fastidious attention to detail that will impress the most hardened enthusiast.
“It’s a remarkable car, and it’s certain to turn heads.”
The F40 is one of 70-cars that will be offered at the Salon Privé Sale, which takes place at Blenheim Palace, Oxfordshire, on September 2.
