This is Project Neptune — an Aston Martin submarine

Luxury firm teams with American manufacturer for limited-run submersible

It’s anchors away at Aston Martin as the luxury car manufacturer sets a course for the prestige submarine market.

Overseen by Aston Martin’s consulting firm, Project Neptune will be developed in collaboration with Florida-based Triton Submarines.

The submersible, which will be put into limited production, is set to be based on Triton’s three-person Low Profile platform.

It will also feature an exterior created by Aston Martin that will “explore a new iteration of Aston Martin’s progressive design language”.

Bradley Yorke-Biggs, managing director of Aston Martin Consulting, said: “Project Neptune is a flagship project for Aston Martin Consulting.

“It is a clear and engaging demonstration of how Aston Martin’s expertise in sports car design and craftsmanship can be extended into new aspects of the luxury world.”

It’s not the first time Aston Martin has taken to the water. In 2016, the Gaydon-based manufacturer unveiled the AM37 powerboat — capable of 50 knots.

Patrick Lahey, president of Triton Submarines, said: “We have always admired Aston Martin.

“The marque represents a deeply held passion for technology, engineering and timeless, elegant design.

“From our first interaction, it was apparent that Triton and Aston Martin were natural partners and our complementary values will be realised in this truly exciting project.”

No announcements have been made for production, pricing or availability of Project Neptune.
