Citroen reveals updated C4 Cactus
Latest version of the hatchback receives new suspension technology for maximum comfort
Citroen has revealed an updated version of the C4 Cactus.
The revised French hatchback’s headline feature is a new suspension system with Progressive Hydraulic Cushion (PHC) technology, which Citroen says creates a “magic carpet ride effect”.
It’s the first time the PHC system has been applied to a European model, having previously seen use in the Chinese C5 Aircross SUV. It works by dissipating energy sent through the suspension by road imperfections to ensure a smooth ride.
The exterior of the car has seen some revisions too, with the trademark air bumps now slimmer in design and lower on either side of the Cactus. New two-tier headlights have also been added, as well as ‘3D-effect’ rear lights.
A new engine has been added to the C4 Cactus line-up. The top-of-the-range three-cylinder petrol unit develops 128bhp and 230Nm of torque and is paired with a six-speed manual gearbox — although full specifications for the engine are yet to be revealed.

“With New C4 Cactus and the introduction of the new suspension with Progressive Hydraulic Cushion, we are bringing motorists an original compact hatchback fully in tune with its times.”
Prices, order dates and delivery dates for the revised C4 Cactus have yet to be announced.
