Ultra-exclusive Lexus LFA supercar wrecked in Singapore highway smash
An incredibly rare Lexus supercar was heavily damaged after its driver lost control of the £350,000 vehicle in Singapore
An incredibly rare Lexus LFA suffered major damage after its driver lost control of it in Singapore.
Video recorded from another vehicle shows the white supercar accelerate quickly in the outside lane of a three-lane highway. As its speed builds, the rear wheels spin up and the exotic Japanese motor begins to veer left towards a bus.
However, the driver appears to overcorrect for this and the car spears right, smashing into a large kerb. The Lexus then ricochets back across all three lanes, narrowly missing the bus.
Photos from the scene show the heavily damaged LFA beside the road with a lamp post across its windscreen. English-language daily newspaper The Straits Times said the crash was believed to have happened outside the Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour in Changi Road, and the driver took out the lamp post after skidding in front of the bus.
The Lexus LFA was a no-compromises supercar project, designed to create a global icon for the Japanese car maker. At its heart was a high-revving, 4.8-litre V10 engine making 550bhp, and it used lightweight carbon fibre in its construction.
Just 500 were built, and they retailed at £350,000 each.
