Renault confirms limited-edition Clio R.S.18 is heading to UK

Just 15 examples of the hot hatch are arriving in the UK, with prices starting at £24,295

Renault has announced that it will be bringing only 15 examples of its limited-edition Clio R.S.18 hatch to the UK.

The model was released in continental Europe in January but wasn’t planned for the UK. However, popular demand has led the French brand to release a small number of right-hand drive models over the Channel.

Based on the regular Clio R.S. 220 Trophy, the R.S.18 receives a variety of components finished in gloss black. These include elements such as the rear diffuser and main Renault diamond at the front of the car. Each vehicle is finished in a special ‘Deep Black’ and ‘Liquid Yellow’ colour scheme, designed to help differentiate it from the rest of the R.S. range.

The car’s powertrain is that found in the regular 220 Trophy, which sees a 1.6-litre engine under the bonnet and power sent to the front wheels via a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Thanks to 218bhp and 260Nm of torque, the R.S.18 can hit 60mph in 6.3 seconds before hitting a top speed of 146mph. Despite this performance, Renault claims that it can return 47.9mpg on the combined cycle.

As mentioned earlier, the Clio R.S.18 will go on sale in May, with first deliveries expected to commence from mid-June this year.
