Careless Lamborghini driver narrowly misses motorbike

Footage has captured the moment a motorbike just escapes colliding with a heavily modified Lamborghini after the supercar powerslides from a layby

A motorcycle rider can consider himself lucky to be alive after footage captured the moment he almost collided with a Lamborghini.

The video, shot in California, USA, shows the heavily modified Lamborghini Huracan aggressively swinging out a layby and through the path of a Yamaha R1 already on the road.

In the video, the driver appears to check his mirrors but doesn’t seem to realise a motorbike is approaching fast. Fortunately, the car narrowly misses hitting the motorbike before stopping on the road.

Alex Choi, the driver of the Lamborghini who also has a large Instagram following for his exploits in cars, immediately pulls over before being confronted by a nearby pedestrian in full motorbike leathers, believed to be the girlfriend of the near-miss motorcyclist.

The woman hurls a stream of expletives at Choi for his actions — who, visibly embarrassed, begins to profusely apologise, claiming the rider was “in my blind spot”.

Choi waits for him to return in order to apologise and when he does the rider is surprisingly calm, in spite of his partner’s aggressive response.

Everyone involved left the incident unharmed, but it no doubt serves as a reminder to keep a keen eye out for motorcyclists.

It’s not clear why Choi was leaving the layby so aggressively — be it for social media content or to avoid the rider at a late stage — but he has previously posted some questionable stunts online.

An Instagram post from earlier this month captures him playing a game of ‘selfie stick handoff’ in the same Lamborghini — while at cruising speed on a public highway.

Another post sees him perform doughnuts in his Italian supercar — albeit in a seemingly more controlled environment.
