This is the Easter passing out parade of the Infantry Junior Leaders' Battalion at Park Hall, Oswestry, in April 1966. It took on a literal meaning, as at least 25 soldiers passed out. Commanding the battalion of junior soldiers was 18-year-old Junior Regimental Sergeant Major John Grindley, of Belvidere Paddock. Unable to stand the severe cold, boy after boy collapsed and had to be carried from the parade ground.
