Pictures From The Past - October 27Welcome to this week's collection of nostalgia photos from the pages of the Shropshire Star.By Toby NealPublished Oct 27, 2017 CommentsToday we associate Currys store with electrical goods, but in days gone by it was the place to go to get a bicycle, raincoat, or gramophone record, as this 1930s picture of the Shrewsbury store in Mardol shows. It came from Mrs Dilys Martin, of Shrewsbury, and that's her father standing outside, Harry Samuel Embrey Steventon - known as Sam Steventon. The date on the back of the print is a little difficult to make out, but it looks like 1933.
