Gateway to a town steeped in history

This picture postcard, from a collection belonging to Shropshire historian David Trumper, captures the scene in Lower Broad Street, Ludlow, showing the Broad Gate. with the impressive tower of St Laurence's Church in the background. The picture is undated, but the street lighting and lack of traffic suggests it was probably from the Edwardian era.
