Hospital cake was a sweet sensation
This is a cake with a difference, and no wonder the chef was proud of it.
This picture postcard, probably dating from the 1930s, shows an unidentified chef showing off his cake which had been sculpted to look like the Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital in Shrewsbury.
The chef probably worked at Morris's in Pride Hill, and the picture may have been displayed in the window of the cafe and restaurant during the flower show.
