Shropshire Council meeting - as it happened

Shropshire Council met today where members agreed to take no further action following a petition against the ongoing roadworks at Meole Brace roundabout in Shrewsbury.

A 4,500-name petition agaist the roadworks was handed in to councillors at today's meeting.

Councillor Jon Tandy said the project was being carried out done to cope with congestion in the future but that it had not been explained well enough.

Councillor Alan Mosley called for the council to ask broadband companies when complete superfast broadband will roll out in urban Shrewsbury.

Councillor Steve Charmley said tremendous progress had been made in the rollout of broadband across Shropshire in the last 12 months but there was still lots of work to do.
